Er endet mit dem Urknall, der ätherische Sternentanz auf der Leinwand der Disharmonie: Man merkt, dass die Wahl-New-Yorkerin Pia Zierhut unter anderem Videokünstlerin ist. Die Ex-Kunststudentin „auf Reisen“, kehrte mit ihrer neuen CD „Songs in 3D“ in ihre Geburtsstadt zurück. Mit den 3D-Effekten im Hintergrund klappt es nicht so ganz (es fehlen schlicht die Brillen). Aber die ruhelos wandernden, sich spiegelnd fortpflanzenden Blumenranken, wirbelnden Gestirne und Planeten, psychedelisch wabernden Farben, Formen und Gesichter sehen auch so faszinierend aus – Timothy Leary wäre beeindruckt gewesen.
Dazwischen Bildsequenzen: Flocken fallen vom grauen Großstadthimmel, Menschen eilen im Schatten von Hochhäusern vorüber, es könnte Schnee, aber auch der Fallout von Ground Zero sein. „Hey Joe“, heißt der Song, der unter dem Eindruck des 11. September 2001 entstanden ist, unter dem, so die Künstlerin, „traurigen Himmel über New York“. Was auch immer dieser Tag der sonstigen Welt an Unheil gebracht haben mag, ihre heimliche Hauptstadt, „the City“, hat er im Innersten getroffen. Amerika kann auch sehr sensibel, sanft und verletzlich sein, lautet eine der Botschaften von Pias intimen Liedern. Ehemann Steven Ciric aus Chicago begleitet an der Gitarre, steuert den zarten, hochfliegenden Tönen Blues- und Folkrock-Elemente bei.
Der musikalische Biss in den Big Apple schmeckt ansonsten süß, manchmal zartbitter, Zierhuts amerikanische Songs sind eindringlich, haben naiven Charme und wären trotz allen Experimentierens wohl kaffeehaustauglich. Es geht um allumfassende Liebe und menschliches Bewusstsein – akustisch wie visuell. P*I*A lautet ihr Künstlername, mit Sternchen, was, für Persönlichkeit, Identität, Authentizität steht. Nach etwas über einer Stunde ist die Präsentation, vor kleinerem Publikum, beendet, es folgen einige Cover-Stücke, von Jazz bis „Over the Rainbow“: Nach der frischen Experimentalmusik ertappt man sich bei der Erkenntnis, wie abhängig man eigentlich von solchem Mainstream geworden ist. Ansonsten weilt Pia Zierhut auch im Lande, um noch Schweinfurter für eine gemeinsame Reise nach New York zusammenzutrommeln. Start ist in den Pfingstferien, Infos bei der Disharmonie: Tel.
